Why I’ll Never Be A Fashion Blogger

Inspired by Helen’s great post on why she’ll never be a beauty blogger, I thought I’d finally get round to sharing the reasons why I will never be a fashion blogger.

Now don’t get me wrong, I do like buying new clothes, but you won’t start seeing OOTD’s on here. Soz.

I tend to stick to the basics. My weekend outfit tends to be a pair of jeans and a tee. My weekday outfits aren’t that much more interesting, as I work in an office.

OOTD posts are sooo dull. Guys, this is just *my* opinion, but I find them incredibly boring 9 times out of 10. They are only interesting to me if you just happen to mention what you wore when you did something exciting.

I can’t pose for my dear life. I applaud those of you that can pose like a model and feel totally normally about it all. That whole hand-on-your-hip thing that you do? You own that. I own the awkward reluctant smile and not-knowing-what-to-do-with-my-hands look.

I am a bargain hunter. Most of the time my new outfits are your past season ones. I wait for things to be cheaper, and will always have a maximum price I think something is worth in my head. Livin’ on the edge, me.

Catwalk fashion confuses me. Honestly, what are those models wearing?! It feels me with dread when I start to see these hideous outfits reimagined in the High Street made out of poor quality material and costing a day’s (or sometimes more) wage.

I hate Topshop. This wasn’t always the case, but over recent years I’ve never found anything I’d be caught dead in. Except their boyshort pants, because BATMAN PANTS IN TOPSHOP!!!

Being petite makes life difficult. In-store Petite ranges are often looking a little sorry for themselves. Us short-arses just don’t have the same variety, and “normal” height clothes are so unflattering on me…

There’s more interesting things to write about. OK, so not every single one of my posts will be OMG THRILLING (or maybe none of them), but I’d rather write about anything else than when I bought a new Spring jacket.

Haha me neither, as I said on another post who wants to see pics of my two outfits consisting of top and jeans or pyjamas! I do plan on a post on my love of the cuffed jogger/casual patterned trouser though.

Bargain shopping for the win (the odd treat is nice)! I can relate with the being unable to pose and having an awkward smile.

I completely agree with this. I live in office clothes, PJs or jeans, it's really not all that interesting and I also cannot pose for shiii. Sometimes if it's a special occasion there might be the odd instagram photo appear but sometimes I do wish could put together some budget friendly primark floor outfits but it's just not going to happen anytime soon. I struggle enough getting dressed on time for work never mind adding pressue to that :p

Agreed! Maybe if brands started sending me loads of nice clothes to model (honestly, feel free to!) I would, but I just don't spend that much on clothes. I don't really have a good space to pose in, and I'm not doing it outside! Oh, and I pose weird.

I go from desk (un)chic to jimjams and back again. Occasionally with some tatty jeans that may or may not have a tiny bit of dog poop on them at any given moment. And that's why I'll never be a fashion blogger.
That and the not knowing what to do with my hands thing. The struggle is real.

Lol! I'm sure we'd all be fashion bloggers if we were being sent free clothes 😉 I'm the same… no place to pose, and no pose to strike! x

Aha, I definitely agree with most of those. I don't mind seeing an OOTD, but I don't understand when posts are full of the same photo 10 times over… 1 or 2 will do!
