What’s On My Blogging Desk?

Blogging desk accessories

Let’s face it. We’re all hella nosy and want to know how other bloggers do their thang at their blogging desk/lap/wherever the hell you love to blog. This is also an excuse to show off my new hashtag light which I am totally in love with which I got from Chic Creek.

When I moved back to my parents house around June-ish time (I try to forget given the circumstances for the move), my old room had naturally become somewhat of a dumping ground. It housed the ironing board, crosstrainer which was gathering dust and that pile of clothes we all have that just hasn’t made its way onto eBay yet. Sure, that pile of clothes is still there, but I’ve done away with the ironing board and cross trainer and really made the room feel like mine again.

The focal point of my room, in my humble opinion, is my desk. It’s where I write my blog posts, binge on Netflix and generally spend my time at home when not sleeping or slobbing out in front of the TV downstairs. Although the desk is a bit knackered and needs a lick of paint and varnish, it’s a beautiful desk that has served me well for many years. But as fascinating as the desk itself is, how about the things that make it pretty?

Gushing over the hashtag light out of the way, let’s talk about the super co-ordinated minty accessories. Mint green has become a bit of an obsession of mine, and if I see something in the perfect shade, I have to buy it regardless of whether it actually serves any other purpose than looking pretty.

The frame on the left was a Primark purchase in their sale a little while back. I think it cost a quid. It’s a block wood frame with a paper front which has a very faint green geometric pattern. I’ll probably upgrade this frame soon as it’s a little on the tatty side, but it’s done the job for a little while of housing a postcard that states my lifelong mantra.

Sass & Belle owl mug

The owl mug is a more recent addition from Sass & Belle (gifted by Flamingo Gifts). Isn’t it a beaut? It’s also a very practical home for my pens, pencils and highlighters…oh and Mr Fox, another Chic Creek purchase! I am addicted to mugs, so I have to start using them for purposes other than drinking from and I think we can agree this little guy looks pretty ace chilling with my lamp.

THAT LAMP, GUYS. I got this for my 26th birthday and I’d been looking for a mint lamp for such a long time. John Lewis, you beautiful beast. It provides just about the right amount of light in the evenings when I’m tapping away, given that the woodenย beams in my room make it quite dark up in here.

Mint green desk accessory

Another impulse accessory which has turned into a practical house for things is my ice cream sundae bowl. Yup, that’s what is looking after my USB and memory card collection. Clever, huh? I got this from a shop in Worthing in a sale after a little patience (I basically wanted it as soon as I saw it but didn’t want to payย quiteย the full price for it. I got lucky about a week later when it was reduced).

Over on the other side of my desk is where things are just a teensy little bit less organised and pretty. I stash my photography equipment on that side, scribble all over my calendar and use a nifty in-tray to shove away important paperwork, notebooks and as I type, a Cadbury caramel egg. It can’t all be co-ordinated glitz and glam now, can it?

So tell me, what does your blogging desk/space look like?
