What’s Left To Do Before Christmas

Christmas is so close now I can almost taste the turkey, stuffing and pigs in blankets. My holiday off work has now started (although I will be back before the New Year), but I’ve been so prepared that I don’t have any other presents left to buy, and all the wrapping is done. However, I do still have a few things left to do to keep me occupied…

Today is Liam’s birthday – needless to say I’ve pre-written this post! He’s got a few goodies in store from me in the shape of his presents, and his Mum and her partner will be coming to visit today for a lunch out at Azzurro in Gunwharf Quays too.

Sunday marks the Mini Christmas that me and Liam have every year where we exchange our gifts and I will cook a Christmas meal. I’ll likely do another post on this so stay tuned. We plan on also watching Love Actually, and perhaps another Christmas movie too.

Monday (23rd) is when my Mum is coming down to drop off Liam’s gifts and pick me up to take me back to the family home for Christmas. I think she also plans on squeezing in the chance to pick up the food for Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. I don’t envy her for that as I imagine it’s going to be pretty hectic! My Dad will probably come along too with the vision of doing all of his Christmas shopping (although knowing his usual routine, he’ll leave it to Christmas Eve).

The kitchen at home is going to me a mess on Christmas Eve as me and Mum will be attempting to make mince pies and cupcakes galore. I’m incredibly excited about this, as Mum’s mince pies are the best, and my cupcakes kick ass too.

And that will take us to the big day! I’m looking forward to seeing my family, although I am slightly dreading staying back at home for several nights as I never sleep very well there. Hopefully it will be different this time round and will be more relaxing.

What are your plans for the final run up to the big day?

I too need to finish off my Christmas baking – some mince pies and some more stuffing. Then actually i'm just ready to relax, i've got my last blog post before Xmas all ready to go and that's be done with blogging till later on in the week. Need some time off to just relax and recharge!

We always leave the baking until Christmas Eve so we feel really festive! 🙂 Back at the beginning of this month we picked up some decorating supplies from Hobbycraft so my inner baking nerd is pretty excited.

I have one more post to do that should go out in a few days (once I get round to writing it!) and then I'm exactly the same, I will be well and truly ready to relax and recharge – and of course eat too much, too x
