Ah, don’t you just love a good Saturday? The one just gone was definitely one of them because it was totally and utterly chilled. I did so very little that I should be ashamed. But I’m definitely not.
The day was made up of waiting around for a delivery (the perfect excuse to do nothing), popping to the shops for some treats and watching X Men: The Last Stand which has a really questionable script but is otherwise OK!
The flowers above were a treat from Liam, and they are brightening up the kitchen quite nicely. It’s been a good few weeks since I last had some flowers in the house, so it’s a welcome change.
Since the sun has been so generous recently, we’ve really been getting in the mood for fruit. I like the Spring/Summer time because I’m less inclined to eat quite so much chocolate as in the Autumn/Winter. I’m consciously trying to eat less of the stuff and generally eat better (look out for new Health posts to encourage me!) – and these mini strawbs were to die for. So good with some raspberries and red grapes for a midday treat!
The fruit goodness followed on after an amazing breakfast of dippy egg and soldiers (the best breakfast treat ever!) and I was pretty pleased with myself for managing to create make shift egg cups out of ramekins and rolled up kitchen paper! Not to mention the ability to make a perfect soft boiled egg. Tip: Bring the water to a fast boil and place the eggs in – leave them for 4 minutes exactly before removing them! Nice and runny!
So how did you spend your Saturday?
