This weekend was all about working together to clear out our office. Our current flat is a 2 bed place, and we used the spare room pretty much as a dumping ground. Thankfully, in our new place we’ll have a loft for that, but we’ve gone some way in throwing a lot of rubbish away that we no longer want/need. It’s been a long time coming, and I definitely regret not sorting through things sooner!
Hello folks! I hope you had a good weekend, and aren’t dreading the week ahead too much!
Time seems to be going so quickly now that it’s all steam ahead with getting ready to move. Poor Liam is having to do most of the hard work in arranging cancelling our current Broadband, sorting the remainder of the water and electricity bills admin, and getting us ready to set up over in the new place next month. However, I still need to step in and sort out the Council Tax (plus some other bits I’ve probably forgotten about).
The good thing about working hard on such dull things at the weekend is always the reward – I treated myself to a nice cup of tea and a couple of shortbread biscuits to relax after hours spent sorting through Liam’s clothes and our old boxes which probably should have been recycled months ago.
Next step soon will be to start packing. I don’t have too much stuff to move over really, mostly just clothes, books and beauty supplies. Plus the contents of my designated bakery cupboard! We’re trying to be a bit clever at the moment and work through the food we have in the cupboards, fridge and freezer, but on Friday night we just had to treat ourselves to Chinese food.
I honestly can’t wait until we’re all settled in our house – I’m hoping with all the lovely extra light and space I’ll be able to take better photos, and just feel more settled as the place won’t be such a mess! At least we have a good excuse for the mess at the moment…
Have you got any tips or advice on moving? We’re managing pretty well with just under a month left here, but could always do with some pointers.
