Neal’s Yard Remedies Frankincense Hydrating Cream Review

Frankincense Hydrating Cream Neal's Yard Remedies All Skin Types

When we went on our little weekend trip to Bournemouth, one evening I had my makeup done professionally as a lovely treat from Liam’s Mum. Now, I was kind of dreading it as I was worried I’d end up looking like a drag queen, but it actually came out looking really natural.

Anyway, I explained to the makeup artist that one of the reasons I don’t really wear makeup is because my skin doesn’t take too kindly to it – particularly around the edges of my nose which tend to either go super oily or depressingly dry. It’s not a good look.

Straight away the makeup lady (Amy) offered a solution – Neal’s Yard Remedies Frankincense Hydrating Cream.

She told me that the reason the skin around my nose is so stupid is because it’s trying to compensate for lack of moisture, or by using heavy moisturiser the skin dries up to reduce the levels of water. Or something like that, I forget her exact phrasing.

Either way, my skin needed some serious hydrating so before putting on foundation etc, she gently layered and massaged on this lovely cream.

And it really is lovely – it smells nice, and makes my skin feel all silky smooth. The flakiness (nice) around my nose disappears, and make up glides on much easier on the rare occasion I do wear it. The cream itself is not as rich as I used to use, and no where near as heavy. This is good for my skin, but does take a little more work to ensure it is spread properly. I bought my own pot in a Cyber Monday sale and use it everyday in the morning.

I’d definitely recommend giving this cream a go if you’ve got sensitive/combo skin that suffers a bit from over or under moisturisation. It is also apparently good for ageing skin, so hopefully it’s something I’ll continue to use when I start getting wrinkly.

NYR claim that it provides up to 24 hours moisturisation, although I’d put it more at 12 (but perhaps this is just because of the harsh weather we’ve had lately). You can view, and buy the cream here.

Interesting and I often suffer from the same problem in the winter but I'm never sure if I just need two different types of moisturiser or not. I currently have an Olay combo skin type one but it doesn't seem to have been hydrating my skin as much in this cold. I'm glad that you've found something that works well for you! 🙂

Love all the handcreams – often difficult to choose, but my go to in the winter would definitely be Bee Lovely. Fantastic honey & orange smell and high quantify of oils, making it a great one to soak in and moisturise winter beaten knuckles! 🙂

Frankincense hydrating is formulated for skin needing moisture – hence it's name. It is a fantastic moisturiser and one I have used for years. I love the fact that is it mattifying and absorbs really well. You might like to try Frankincense Intense cream – as this is great for dryer skin. It has been clinically proven and boosts skin moisture and oil. Benedict Cumberbatch loves it!!

I find Olay way too heavy for my skin, makes it all greasy and ick. I guess everyone is different though! I definitely recommend giving this a go because its made my skin really nice and soft!
