Monthly Favourites: October 2017

The months are going WAY too fast and need to calm tf down. I even scheduled a different blog post to go live today and then was hit with the fact it’s Halloween today which also means its the last day of October. Numpty.

Happy Halloween anyway – I plan on spending the evening ignoring the doorbell and eating all the Haribo myself. Anyway, shall we crack on with the things that made October optimistic?

working: on my business. So the end of October marks my first full month working as a freelancer and y’know what? I’m doing alright! I’m not rolling in the dolla just yet, but it’s been a positive start and I’m learning to take the time to really absorb those wins.

eating: all the bad (but so, so good) things. Well it’s got colder and darker so I just want chocolate all the time, OK?!

watching: gilmore girls. I can’t believe I got into this show. I really disliked it at first, but Luke won me over (as did my seething hatred for Dean who is literally the worst).

also watching: stranger things. Because DUH. We haven’t binged it so we’re only a few episodes in but I am so excited to be back in this world.

also also watching: the walking dead. It’s back! Tbh, it’s been mixed as the first episode was alright and the second was borrrrring. Hoping it picks up real soon!

booking: tickets to see flight of the conchords! Through some sort of miracle, Liam managed to get seats second row from the front! Let’s just ignore how much they cost, shall we? It’s not every day you get the chance to see Bret and Jemaine live…*signs the petition to hear Jemaine sing ‘Shiny’ from Moana at the gig*.

prepared: for skiing next year! We went to the Ski Show in London which was unfortunately a washout but we made up for it with some window shopping. I’ve now got a ski jacket on the way as a birthday gift from Liam, and have chosen the goggles I’ll be getting! We’re going to Banff for my first ski holiday in March and CANNOT WAIT.

enjoying: the autumn leaves. I feel so so cosy when the ground is littered with orange leaves, don’t you?

That’s it for October – it seems to have just sped by! I can’t believe I’m going to be turning 28 on Saturday either…that’s really snuck up on me! Tell me what’s given your October oomph?

Holy crap, this is the best post! I’m so glad your first month freelancing went well and I’m so jealous that you’re seeing Flight of the Concords!!! Also super chuffed that you’re into Gilmore Girls. I hate Dean too.

Thank you! Let’s hope the business keeps growing! Getting the FOTC tickets was SO stressful (not to mention expensive!). GG is so hit and miss for me though, if Luke is involved I am all about it, but the episodes where he’s not really in them, I lose interest! But yeah, Dean is 100% the worst and it annoys the hell out of me that Lorelei doesn’t see that – she’s usually so savvy!

So glad your first month self-employed has gone well! That’s got to give you a bit of a boost, mentally 🙂 I’m glad to see the back of October, to be honest, and I’m looking forward to preparing for Christmas now Halloween is out the way!

Thank you – here’s hoping there’s more great months ahead! It has given me a bit of a boost but also panic to maintain it haha! Sorry to hear October has outstayed its welcome…but yeah, it’s all Christmas celebrations from here on out! Well, after Saturday when my birthday is out of the way 😉
