WHAT THE ACTUAL EFF. HOW IS JUNE OVER ALREADY? I guess it’s that time once again to share my highlights from the month!
seeing: the book of mormon. It was our second time seeing the show, so it was fun to sing along this time! I did a short review of the show back in 2016 when we first saw it…and it definitely still holds up! Go see it if you can.
also seeing: flight of the conchords. It’s been such an amazing month being able to see both BOM and FOTC…feeling v v lucky. FOTC was a long time coming as we were originally meant to see them in March after our trip to Canada but they had to reschedule. Go read my review of the show here.
finding out: I don’t have cancer! OK, so a weird thing to include in a monthly highlights post, but after a fortnight of hella stress, the relief I felt hearing that my lumpy boobs were harmless was unreal. Turns out it’s just something called adenosis. Read my breast lump story.
presenting: as a business owner. This month I did a talk for local small businesses all about copywriting and got such good feedback that my ego at *least* tripled in size.
watching: the last of parenthood. For some months, Parenthood has taken over our lives in the best way and now I am v v sad that we have seen it all. I miss the Braverman’s so much. Go watch this show from the beginning if you’ve never seen it!
also watching: riverdale. Oh, Riverdale..you are so silly. But we somehow got addicted to season 2 and finished it in about a week. There’s something so endearing about how ridiculous it is.
filling out: a happiness planner. Honestly, you guys, using a Happiness Planner has been surprisingly transformative and I highly recommend you check out my recent post about loving intentionally to find out more.
having: a successful month with my business. This month may not be the month I’ve made the most money (not even close lol), but it’s the month I have felt most successful in terms of developing it.
eating: a lot of ben & jerry’s. Because every day has been hotter than the surface of the sun, I cannot resist eating all of the ice cream. My staple favourite is Phish Food but I’ve recently discovered a new lower fat favourite – chocolate cookie dough. Go try it and may your life be ever transformed…
drinking: more water. I bought one of those water tracker bottles this month that has markings down the side to indicate the time of day. Some days are more successful than others, but I have definitely upped the amount of water I drink daily. The only downside is the early wake-up calls in the morning desperate for a wee.
wearing: linen shorts. REVOLUTIONARY. I picked up two pairs in the Tu Clothing sale and they are perfect for slouching about at home.
celebrating: my brother’s engagement. So my older brother proposed to his girlfriend and so we had a celebratory sunday roast on one of the hottest days of the year…as ya do. It was nice to spend time with the family though as it’s not often you get us all around the dinner table!
…and that’s it for June! Overall it’s been a damn good month after a tough start with the health scare. It’s crazy how much of a rollercoaster life can get sometimes.
What’s made your June jubilant?
