Monthly Favourites: July 2018

OH HI IT ME! Thanks intense, scorching heat for turning my forehead into a shining beacon of shininess.

But enough about the selfie I took on my phone just so I’d have a photo of this post. Let’s talk about the best bits of July, shall we?

starting a: dance class! I KNOW RIGHT? Totally and utterly unlike me, but when a The Greatest Showman dance course popped up and it was only a 5-minute drive away…well, I don’t believe in fate but that comes pretty close. While I have learned how tragically out of time I am when it comes to following a dance routine, I’m still finding it super fun! There have been 2 classes so far on the course, and there’s 2 left to go and I’ll be sad when it’s over tbh.

spending time: with family. This month has included trips to see Liam’s family as well as my own and it’s been nice to balance out that time a bit. Plus, I get to see Dexter the goldendoodle when visiting my family and that’s always a win.

selling stuff: on eBay. Instead of waiting until I desperately need extra funds, I’ve had a bit of a clear out and sold a few bits on eBay. Hardly rolling in the dolla, but I’ve made a bit of pocket money. I actually have a few pieces left in sizes 10 – 12 so if you fancy taking a gander, *clickity here*

had a: life planning session. A local business owner gave me a free life planning session so I could think financially about what I want out of life and tbh, it was pretty eye-opening. In a good way, obv.

been doing well: with work. This month has included some positive meetings, fun projects and some learning too. Not all of the learning felt good at the time, but I do feel good about taking a mistake and turning it into a lesson.

going for: dinner with amy. Amy is my local blogger pal and we occasionally have a bit of a catch-up dinner when we realise it’s been too long since we saw each other last. There’s no one else I’d rather rant about bad drivers with tbh!

loving the: sunshine. Y’know, for the most part. When I’m not struggling to sleep at night. But seriously, we have been spoilt this summer but I am now enjoying the cooler climate now we’ve had some rain.

mostly eating: mango. There’s something so damn good about mango when it’s warm out. But just a pro tip: eat all the mango at once, do not wrap the packet in cling film and expect it to still taste good the next day. It does not.

carrying on with: the happiness planner. I have to admit I’ve been a bit lax on this some days, but still overall I’m finding it a really good way to structure my day.

getting back into: instagram. Yeah, I know it’s the devil and followers and engagement are dropping by the second BUT I’m enjoying it again because I’m no longer caring about that shit. For now, anyway.

taking a break from: vlogging. I am hoping to get back into vlogging now I don’t look quite so much like a sweaty mess 24/7, but I’m going to take my time and really think about the content I want to create on my channel…if any at all! I’m equal parts excited and nervous about going back to video again.

finding new: youtubers to watch! Speaking of Youtube, I’ve actually been watching more content on there than I ever have before. Shane Dawson’s Tanacon documentary was fascinating even if you couldn’t care less about Youtube drama, and Liam introduced me to The Valleyfolk which is such a fun channel.

also watching: glow, standup comedy and (more) prison break. We watched Glow Season 1 and…it’s OK. Then we started watching a stand-up comedy series which was realllllly hit and miss, and all the while we’ve been powering through season 4 of Prison Break which actually isn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be.

So there we have it, that’s July! What made your July joysome?

Yeah! Can’t beat a good rant about bad drivers. Especially when our partners get a bit bored of hearing us talk about them…!
