Monthly Favourites – January 2015

celebrating: the new year. Well, I kind of hate New Year’s Eve so ‘celebrating’ was just watching TV. But it was nice to spend it with family for the first time in who-knows-how-long.

getting: back on track. I’ve been back on Slimming World again to take control of my diet again, and it feels good. I’m also working on looking after myself better in general. I even became one of those people who joins the gym in January. I know right?!

watching: Celebrity Big Brother. I’m ashamed to admit it, to be honest. It has been trashier than previous years, and even more exploitative. But it’s also been totally addictive. We also went to the cinema to see Whiplash which was genuinely incredible!

laughing: at Ross Noble. We went to see him live at the end of this month for the second time, and I still think he’s the funniest comedian around. Review coming soon!

reading: Yes Please. Technically I read most of this in December, but I finally finished it this month. I’m a quick reader but read in short bursts over long periods of time. I know, I need to work on this. However, Amy Poehler is amazing.

shopping: the sales. I’m quite pleased I haven’t gone mad and bought lots of things this month, because it’s a bloody long month. But I have treated myself to a few bits and pieces, as you do!

drinking: warm milk. Honestly, nothing helps me sleep better at the moment. Much more effective than this.

eating: hi fi rocky roads. If you’ve been on the Slimming World plan, you’re bound to have tried these. They are DELICIOUS.

sleeping: a lot. Honestly, why is January so exhausting? I have been incredibly tired every day so have tried to get more sleep which has made NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER.

Ooo I love warm milk, not had it in a while though so will have to change that. I agree, January is so tiring, I've also been sleeping loads more haha

I hear you on January being exhausting! I don't like the taste of milk on its own (Weird I know) so I've been adding oodles of hot choc powder but agree it's much better for sleepy making that any of the teas i've tried!

Warm milk is just the perfect way to end a busy day before heading to bed, absolute bliss! I slept so much over this weekend it was mad.. x
