Monthly Favourites: December 2017

OMG IT’S 2018 TOMORROW.

I hope you all have stellar plans for ringing in the New Year. Every New Year’s Eve we spend the evening with Liam’s family as it’s his mum’s birthday on New Year’s Day. His mum is 100% an enabler so I will definitely be putting away a few drinks to celebrate/commiserate the end of 2017.

Anyway, December has been a pretty good month…not jam-packed with activities other than y’know, Christmas but here’s a few of my highlights…

celebrating: my Mum’s birthday. We spent the day in Lewes and I ate the ultimate of basic bitch brunches – avo and poached eggs on toast from Bill’s. It was lush. Mum also had a nice day and it was good to have the chance to spend some time together.

also celebrating: Liam’s birthday! I love having my two favourite people’s birthdays in the same month. My bank balance doesn’t love it, and ideally their birthdays wouldn’t be the same month as Christmas but you can’t have it all! To celebrate the big 3-0, me and Liam went for Chinese with his family and ordered in pizza for dinner with a movie marathon.

shopping: for Christmas presents. I wasn’t quite as prepared this year as I have been in the past, so a few Christmassy purchases had to take place this month.

eating: all the Lindt chocolates: Liam made me my own advent “calendar” this year which meant I got to eat Lindt Gold Bears every day in December and if that’s not winning, I don’t know what is.

drinking: Ribena winter spice. It tastes like non-alcoholic mulled wine and you need it in your life.

also drinking: mulled wine. because duh, sometimes you want that sweet, sweet alcohol.

upping: my blog game. The ideas seem to have been flowing this month for new content…long may it continue…(please)

watching: more gilmore girls. I’ll admit it, I’m officially addicted now. I’m packing my bags and moving to Stars Hollow, stat!

working: harder than expected! I expected this month to be really quiet for work, but I’ve had multiple meetings, written a proposal and worked on a marketing strategy for another client too. Phew!

remembering: two years since I passed my theory test! I found my pass certificate when going through some paperwork recently and it made me smile thinking about how gutted I was I failed the theory first time round and how proud I am I went back and did it again.

reminiscing: over this year. 2017 has been a BIG year for me in many ways, and it’s nice to look back over it and see how far I’ve come.

What made your December delightful?

I love Ribena Winter Spice – it’s such a nice, warming drink. And since I usually only drink tea, it makes a nice change! The Lindt Advent Calendar Liam made for you sounds amazing!

It’s lovely isn’t it? The advent calendar was the best idea ever and I am 100% convincing him to do it again next year lol. Also could have sworn I responded to this comment before!

Ribena winter spice is the highlight of my year but since I switched to shopping at Aldi, I’ve missed out on it. I’ll have to wait for next year.

I swear I responded to this comment at the time but apparently not, so sorry! It’s still out in shops at the moment if you are able to get it now 🙂
