Monthly Favourites: April 2017

Uh, it’s been a little while since I did my last monthly favourites post…soz about that. In all honesty, there was a time when I would have had nothing to say…no highlights of the month. I wasn’t in the best of places and things kept going wrong. So yep, it was difficult to sit down and type out a post about a month that sucked.

But y’know what? I’m back now and April has been a doozy.

So what’s the list of monthly favourites, this month?

seeing: Quite a few films this month! I’ll have my next “What I’ve Been Watching” going live during the week, but tonight I’m off to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 – which should hopefully be a highlight! But otherwise, I also really enjoyed seeing Going in Style (it’s cute af, you’ll love it).

eating: m&S hot cross buns. OMG did anyone else devour toffee and belgian chocolate hot cross buns over Easter? Because if you didn’t, you’re doing Easter wrong.

drinking: water, water and more water.  What an exciting and edgy life I lead, huh? But seriously, drinking more water has made me feel much healthier than when I used to always reach for a fizzy drink.

visiting: arundel castle. After the Easter weekend, me and Liam both had a day off and decided to use it on a trip to Arundel Castle. It was a beaaaautiful day, and I took over 500 photos. Don’t worry, *my post about the day* only has five of those photos.

trying: skiing! I had my very first ski lesson this month in preparation for our trip to Banff in March next year. I enjoyed it more than I expected to (although tears were shed in a mini-meltdown), and am keen to get some more lessons in asap!

wearing: amazing matalan trainers. I know I’ve harped on about them on social media, but they’re now only £7 and they are amazeballs.

getting: Nelson’s first MOT. OK, so he failed and I ended up having to pay £160 in total to get him road ready again, but I’m putting this in my monthly faves because I’m legit proud of myself for not totally freaking out over it. It did help that Liam’s mum was on hand to help me sort it out!

reminiscing: over a year of driving. Yep, I passed my test in the middle of April last year so I’ve been road-legal for a year! It’s had it’s ups and downs, best covered in *this post*.

feeling: proud of my content. For the first time in a while, I’ve been feeling pretty proud of this blog. I’m really happy with the content I’m producing, and feeling pretty smug about it tbh. I’ve also started recording my stats to see my progress with the blog as well.

being: crafty. I started (and finished) my second decoupage project over the weekend. Check it out on *Instagram*

watching on netflix: 13 reasons why. Me and Liam totally binged this show – I watched the first episode on my own when visiting my family recently and insisted Liam watched it again with me and we both got hooked. I know the show is problematic to say the least, but it was a great piece of television about an important subject that needs a light shone on it. I’ll say no more.

also watching on netflix: season 2 of Love. Has anyone else seen Love? I really enjoy it. I feel like it is a show for “my generation” (I refuse to use the ‘m’ word because ergh), and if you haven’t watched it you should give it a go.

celebrating: my uncle & nan’s birthdays! Earlier this month, I went back to see my family and go out for a meal for my nan’s 80th(!) and uncle’s 50th. I hadn’t seen my Nan for a little while, and hadn’t seen my uncle and aunt for years so it was nice to catch up. Unfortunately I was pretty ill on the day but I still enjoyed catching up!

What’s made your April awesome?

Oh my gosh – I totally freaked out when my little Clio had go for it’s MOT. I was on the edge of my seat all day waiting for the phone call to say pass or fail, and was totally convinced it would fail, even though everyone else couldn’t see any reason why it was! When I got the call to say it passed, with only two minors, I was the happiest person ever – it’s such a stressful, worrisome thing!!

It’s impossible not to freak out while waiting, right?! Part of me definitely knew it wasn’t going to pass so it wasn’t as traumatising but yeah…not ideal!
