Monthly Favourites: January 2016

Monthly Favourites January 2016

I don’t even know how it’s already the end of January. WHAT. I know I say it a lot, but this month really has sped by. But what’s made it special?

celebrating: The New Year! So, I’m usually one for staying in and falling asleep by 11am because holding out that extra hour is all too much, but this year I actually went out. To a pub. In a village. And you know what? It was actually a lot of fun. The prosecco was flowing, and dancing took place.

also celebrating: our 6 year anniversary! Hurray for all the celebrations! January 25th marked 6 years with Liam so we went out for a meal together and exchanged awesome gifts. Most of y’all ladies want pretty flowers, but this one got some Breaking Bad goodies, a Batman jumper and a Lego Snape keyring. DON’T BE HATIN’.

progressing: with my driving. I took my first ‘mock test’ in a recent lesson, and although I didn’t even come close to passing (12 minors and about 5 majors I think), I finally felt like I was progressing as I know the areas I now need to focus on to improve. Still a way to go though!

visiting: the cinema. It’s been a strong start of the year with 2 cinema trips this month (The Hateful Eight and The Revenant). I’ve also started blogging more about movies I watch which I’ve rather enjoyed.

eating: healthier dinners. With Mum being on Slimming World at the moment, we’ve been having more homemade meals…it’s just a shame I’ve been counteracting that good behaviour by eating rubbish during the day!

reading: Chew Volume 3. I’m really starting to get into Chew. I enjoyed volumes 1 and 3, but now the characters and story are more established, I’m enjoying it even more. Here’s a little review of 1 and 2.

watching: Jessica Jones. Again. I encouraged my Mum and Dad to watch it as I knew they’d enjoy it…and I was right. For the record, it’s just as good on a rewatch.

What made your January jolly?
