L’Oreal Triple Active Anti-Shine Mattifying Hydrating Moisturiser

L'oreal Paris anti-shine moisturiser

It’s been a little while since I did a beauty post.

I tend to just use my Body Shop seaweed skin care stuff, but now the moisturiser has run out I’ve traded it for the L’Oreal Triple Active Anti-Shine Mattifying Hydrating Moisturiser.

Not exactly a catchy name.

I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now, which probably isn’t quite long enough to say with certainty that it isn’t right – but there are a few problems I have with it. Firstly, it’s perfumed. Whilst it doesn’t flare up the sensitive parts of my skin, it’s not ideal as the smell is not particularly nice. Also, sometimes when I am showering at the end of the day, my eyes sting a lot and this didn’t happen before the moisturiser – I’m guessing perhaps the residue goes into my eyes when I wash my face? I don’t know, but it seems suspicious.

Secondly, the texture of this stuff is bizarre. It’s more like a lotion as it’s really thick and you need quite a bit of it as it doesn’t spread well. Use the right amount and it definitely does make your skin softer and doesn’t make your skin greasy or shiny, which is likely why I’m still using it. It’s not making my skin flare up, and it doesn’t seem to be causing spots either which is great, but it has made me miss my seaweed stuff (but it’s just so expensive for such a small pot!)

If you don’t mind a heavy moisturiser that smells a bit posh (I don’t know how else to define the scent), then give it a go. At just under £5, it’s worth a try if you’re looking to try a new one now the Autumn is officially here (sort of).

Have you tried this before? Or do you know of a cheaper alternative to The Body Shop seaweed moisturiser?
