#HealthySelves Update #3

It’s been a little while since I posted my last #HealthySelves update – or even really been that engaged in the community at all. I’m sorry! I fell off the wagon and struggled to get back on.

However, I’m now ready to make bigger and better changes, and so I thought it was about time I let you in to what I’ve been up to.

Anyone who follows me on Twitter or Instagram will know that I’ve recently joined Slimming World. After the amazing and inspiring success a friend of mine has had with the programme, I thought it was about time I got involved!

I went to my first meet on Thursday of last week, and walked 40 minutes there, and 40 minutes back. I’m pretty proud of that. I was tempted by the train, but why waste £3.00 when walking is free?!

When I arrived at group, my consultant Rachel gave me an overview on everything I needed to know, and handed over my new books that would help me determine my Free Foods from my Healthy Extras and Syns. I wish I could tell you it’s dead easy at first to adapt to ‘food optimising’, but I won’t lie. The first day on plan confused me a lot, although I am getting my head around it slowly but surely. I’ve got a long way to go before it feels ‘normal’ I think! I’ll keep you updated in these #HealthySelves posts on how I get on!

Other that joining SW, nothing much is new on the healthy eating and healthy thinking front. I’m really keen to stick with my new eating regime, as well as get more exercise during the week. My walk to and from group was actually really invigorating and I struggled to get to sleep that night from all the new found energy I had!
