Sunday mornings should always start with warm pain au chocolates oozing out deliciousness, and crunchy toast with lashings of butter. It should just be the law, seriously.
That’s how the Sunday just gone began. The family gathered around the table along with my uncle whom I hadn’t seen in a very long time, and we filled our stomachs with these treats (which I unfortunately couldn’t make look as delicious as they were with my phone). Naturally they were washed down with a mug or two of tea.
After feeling sufficiently satisfied and awake, we all got ready for a trip to Portslade to meet up with my other uncle, his partner and one of her kids at a lovely pub called The Noble House. The weather was absolutely amazing on Sunday – perfect for cider, a BBQ, chatter and games.
I feel like I may be the only one aware that a photo is being taken in this picture… everyone else seems a bit baffled. This was post-Devil’s Food cake so I think we were all just about ready to fall into a food coma by this point…
This photo has to be my winner of the day though…me and my Dad unintentionally in the exact same pose, with the same facial expression and wearing very similar glasses! Like father, like daughter.
Things I learnt at this family event: Dobble! has to be one of the most addictive games ever. Strawberry and lime Kopperberg is by far the best sunshine beverage. I cannot draw, even when being taught how to by someone less than half my age. Burgers in brioche buns never get old. Devil’s Food cake is delicious. I apparently would have fun playing ‘proper’ Bingo. More Sundays should be like this one.
