Five Totally Down-To-Earth Blogs That You Should Be Reading

relatable lifestyle bloggers to follow

A lot of blogs are very glitz and glamour – Pinterest worthy posed and propped photography in every post, days out to extravagant London restaurants every week etc etc. You know the type. Don’t get me wrong, many of these blogs make my reading list, but sometimes you want to read a blog that is more down-to-earth, more relatable…you know what I mean?

I’ve picked out five of my favourite blogs that fit this category, and explain why I think they’re so great!

Becky Bedbug

I’ve been a big fan of Becky’s blog for a long time, as I love the variety of posts she creates. Becky’s blog is also one of the only blogs that posts OOTD‘s that I actually click through to look at because I love her style. I also love that a lot of her OOTD poses include her standing on her bed!

With Becky, there is absolutely no pretence, and even though we haven’t met I do get a good impression of how I imagine she is IRL, and I definitely think we’d be good friends!

Underland to Wonderland

Danielle is probably the nicest blogger I’ve come across. Both on her blog and on Twitter she comes across as such a sweetheart. Her love for her dog Baker is the cutest, and their relationship makes me really miss having a doggy!

She also blogs about a lot of topics, ones you can really tell she has a passion for (Disney, as an example!). She’s totally unique, in that she doesn’t just blog about the latest beauty product that’s been covered 100 times before – and her blog is also my go-to place for any Tag posts I fancy giving a go!

Amazzable

The lovely Amy is also a pen pal of mine, and it’s always a pleasure to hear from her! When either of us are too busy to pen a letter, I love to catch up with the goings-on in her life by reading her blog.

We’re quite local to each other, so it’s nice to read about her adventures in places that I recognise, and she also wrote this great post about it being OK to be disliked which I really loved!

Dungarees & Donuts

Olivia is another lovely blogger who tends to avoid blogging about the typical subjects that fill my blogger feed – and that’s what keeps me going back!

In a recent post she travelled to Brighton and really captured the essence of the city as an ‘outsider’ which I thought was refreshing, given a lot of posts I’ve read about Brighton are from locals.

A Few Of My Favourite Things

I’ve followed Emma’s blog for a while now, and we have so much in common! So much of the stuff she posts are items I would happily splurge my money on, and she’s also branched out into more lifestyle-y posts which are great too.

She’s a bit of a nerd like me, and so her geekery-themed posts are my favourite to catch up with!

Have you read any of these blogs? Do you have any links I should add to my reading list? Let me know in the comments!

I'll definitely be checking out these blogs so thanks so much for the recommendations! There's so many blogs out there that repeat everything that's already done and I agree with what you said about how it's nice to read something that is actually relatable once in a while. Great post!!

Oh I completely get what you mean. I love reading blogs that seem achievable. I struggle to relate to full-time bloggers who just swan from one comped meal or whatever to the next. I have a full-time job and other commitments so can't spend hours arranging props for Pinterest-worthy photos, so I love reading blogs by people who live similar lives, they feel more aspirational to me that rich bloggers living off brands, the bank of mum and dad or their other half, it might not look as fancy but it's definitely more my bag!

Yep, you/I/we definitely need a whole lot of down to earthness in amongst the glitz and glam and you've picked some beauties. Danielle is just such a lovely lovely lady, the world needs more of that.

Couldn't agree more! I do love some of the more glitzy blogs, I do have a few on my Feedly and Bloglovin, but it's the more down to earth ones that I visit most often 🙂 x
