Embracing The Journey

There are quite a few things in my life right now that I’m unhappy with.

They go beyond being unhappy with my body, or not feeling like I have enough time to blog properly as well as working full time and balancing projects. But as you read this, I can imagine you’re either thinking that these are first world problems in the grand scheme of things (you’re right, they are), and also that they are very fixable problems. Correct again.

But not all problems are that simple – ones that I can’t or won’t talk about here are more complex. But they’re all routed in the same overriding emotion that I’ve often felt lingering. Stuck. Unable to click your fingers and change a situation. Unable to drop everything and just do what you want, no matter what the quotes all over Pinterest have to say.

Despite the sombre start, this is not a sad blog post. This is a blog post of hope – but without those damn quotes. It’s a blog post that tells me, and tells you, that it’s time to start making the most of the journey to better things rather than simply just craving the change.

It’s a blog post that says that taking big risks isn’t always the solution, and that there’s no fast track to getting what you want from life. No drastic diets to lose weight, no way of squeezing more time into the day to fit everything in. No crazy decisions to drop everything because y’know, girl got bills to pay.

But what there is, is motivation. Self-motivation. And the knowledge that there is time to take your time. Time to embrace the journey to getting closer to what you want or need from life. Make the most of the now, and plan those steps to the next.

Oh god, that sounded like a Pinterest quote.

But cheesiness aside, let’s start making the most of everyday milestones, shall we? Those micro-moments, the crossing off of tasks on our to do list, everything that takes us even the smallest of steps closer.

Who’s with me?

YASSS!!! I’m fed up of whinging about my body and not feeling comfortable in my skin and not having enough hours in the day to get everything done. The weather is gorgeous and I’ve got a few days annual leave following the long weekend and I’m gonna get out and have fun with my kid, pure and simple.

Funnily enough, just earlier on today I found myself thinking that I am so sick of hating my body and whining about being overweight. I’m going to love my body just the way it is, and maybe if I can love my body, I’ll have more respect for it and treat it better! Love this post; self-motivation is the key to change!

Sorry to hear you have been hating your body…we’ve all been there! But yes, love it and remember what a miracle it is! Self motivation can be hella hard but also hella worth it in the long run 🙂
