Bittersweet Sundays

Bittersweet sundays

I think most of us have a bit of a love hate relationship with Sundays, don’t we? Sundays are primarily made for relaxing which is very much a big draw for me, but equally it’s also the last day of the weekend, and the start of a new busy week.

I also find Sundays bittersweet because as much as I enjoy the chilling out aspect, Sundays are usually the day I have to travel back home from Liam’s after spending the weekend with him. Quite often I am fortunate enough to get a lift back from him, but sometimes I get the train. This weekend, I got the train and it got me thinking about the week ahead.

This week is going to be a tough one, I think. Today I have a doctor’s appointment which I’m not particularly looking forward to, and on Friday is my driving test which I’m damn near terrified of. It’s weeks like these that tend to wake up that nasty part of my brain which makes me anxious and I’m hoping and praying it stays dormant, because it’s not at all helpful. Anxiety is an absolute bitch and can turn me into one, too. So soz, in advance.

Instead of dwelling on the nerves that will undoubtedly start niggling at me throughout the week, I’m going to try and focus positively on the great weekend I had. We spent it relaxing and watching The Office on Friday (Jim and Pam forever), then headed into Basingstoke on Saturday for a spot of shopping and of course, GBK. The food adventure didn’t end there though, as we went for an Indian in the evening and I was pretty much fit to burst by the time I fell into a food coma and went to bed.

I hope you all have an amazing week, and I’ll do my best to post a few more times throughout the week but I have a nasty feeling that the nerves for Friday may get the better of me and all I’ll feel like doing outside of work is binging Community episodes on Netflix until bed time. But we’ll see.

Whatever you’ve got to face this week, you can do it. I can do it. EVERYONE CAN DO IT!

The best of luck to you for your driving test on Friday lovely, I’m sure you’ll ace it though and I hope the doctor’s appointment went OK too. I get the same struggles when week’s are full of dreaded appointments so I know it can be tough, especially when the anxiety creeps up on you so I’m sending hugs and good vibes your way! – Tasha

Thank you so much poppet! I am going to do my absolute best and try not to get nervous! Doctor’s appointment was fine, just something I’d been putting off! Anxiety is really frustrating because you keep telling yourself things will be OK but this evil part of your brain takes over and convinces you otherwise! x
