So those of you who are regular readers or follow me on social media will know I turned 26 last week. Hurrah!
I had a really lovely day (well, several days as I booked some time off work, but more on that in future posts!), and was thoroughly spoilt by my family and Liam. I’m planning on putting together a video to show you some of the bits and pieces I got, but let me tell you a bit about the day itself!
Like all great days, it started with bacon and a cuppa. There’s something extra luxurious about having a slow, relaxing breakfast on a weekday isn’t there? Especially a Wednesday.
After sustenance, I unwrapped my gifts from the family which included several lovely surprises, as well as a few bits from my wishlist. I was thoroughly spoiled and incredibly grateful for all I got – and there was more to come later when Liam arrived.
Me and my Mum decided to spend a few hours in Brighton, mooching around the shops and raiding Homesense for some Christmassy goodies. Naturally, we had to make a pit stop at Costa so I could get a hot chocolate with the fundamental trimmings – lashings of whipped cream and a marshmallow mountain.
Once we were thoroughly shopped out, we headed home and chilled out until Liam arrived with some more amazing pressies. He really went all out this year, making it pretty much impossible for me to top for his birthday! Not only did he get Harry Potter Studio Tour tickets, but he also got Cursed Child tickets and a stay at a Harry Potter themed hotel! My reaction was pretty much priceless.
I have to admit that I accidentally spoiled the studio tour tickets, as the envelope was addressed to me and I foolishly opened it a few days before. But I had no idea of the other surprises, and am so excited. We have to wait until next November though…it’s going to be pretty difficult to be patient!
As if the HP themed extravaganza of next year wasn’t enough, he also got me some other great presents that I’ll share more about in the upcoming video.
In the evening, we all went out for all you can eat Chinese food at China Palace in Worthing (I highly recommend the smoked chicken and spare ribs if you’re ever in the area), before me and Liam drove back to his to chill out and sleep off a food coma.
All in all, turning 26 pretty much rocked. I am so, so appreciative of those who made the day truly special including those of you lovely people who took the time to wish me a happy birthday! Thank you! 🙂
