A Trip To Brilliant Brighton

On Saturday me and Mum went to Brighton. Unfortunately the trains weren’t running, so we ended getting the bus which took about an hour each way, but it was well worth the trip because for the first time ever, Brighton wasn’t busy on a Saturday!

Although for businesses it’s probably a bit worrying that the city wasn’t packed with shoppers so close to Christmas, it was actually pretty blissful for us as we browsed the shops in Churchill Square and down the Lanes.

In between getting excited about the New Look sale and cooing over Cath Kidston clothes, we stopped at Costa Coffee for lunch. This might seem like blasphemy to anyone who visits Brighton’s plethora of independent cafes, but Costa’s tomato, mozzarella and basil panini was calling me. Mum was also thrilled with her turkey (and all the trimmings) toastie, too! We washed our lunch down with a small hot chocolate each.

I always love going on little shopping trips with my Mum, as we are so alike that we understand each other and what we like. It makes pointing out the best things in shops much easier. We usually end up taking a ‘silly selfie’ together which usually includes hats, but we forgot to do it this time!

All in all, I came home with 3 new work tops, a Cath Kidston mug, the new Walking Dead comic and a pink grapefruit body sorbet from The Body Shop (which I’ll no doubt review in the near future!). On the way back to the bus stop we also picked up a gluten free raspberry chocolate brownie, and raspberry shortcake slice to share. They were both stunning.

What did you get up to at the weekend?
